Another locker question...

Hey guys i have 93 ranger 4.0 4x4 with the stock 8.8 28 spline axle in the rear open. I just bought a locker off ebay used for cheap. I thought i was buying the lock right for a open axle, turns out it is the powertrax no slip designed for the l/s 28 spline carrier. The seller included a limited slip carrier with the sale. So my question is can i just pull my open carrier out and put the ring gear on the l/s carrier and and pop it in with out any adverse affects? Or do i have to have it professinaly set up?

99% of the time you will be fine.

I would be on the safe side and check the backlash and run a quick pattern check.
