Andres629's still at it! '87 BII this time!

cool. i just got a landcruiser front axle for my samurai :) look slike its gonna be a race to see who gets done first, you have more work but i have very limited funds

Yeah... I've got a buttload of work...

-Tub the rear for the even bigger fender cut
-Inboard leaves
-Cut out the inner fender aprons for the engine cage
-Make said engine cage
-Setup front suspension
-Make coil buckets, shock towers, panhard bar, drag link, panhard mount
-Disc brake conversion in rear
-Setup rear gears
-Truss rear diff
-Cut out engine crossmember/make new crossmember

All while it's still a DD... Oi. :icon_bounceblue:

jeeze.. your not gonna pull it off the road 1st? i figure you were gonna swap the 35 and such to the ranger b4 starting on this and just drive the ranger

No, everything from the BII is going under the Ranger... so I need to pull it off the road, swap axles, get the Ranger saftied, and then I can drive it. So a lot of this will be done while still a DD.

Picking up my new tires and rims in April, and I may have found a buyer unintentionally for my MT/R-K's and beadlock rims... We'll see. I kind of thought about keeping the tires, but if I can sell 'em, why not I guess. Also got started on the first ever "factory" full-width 8.8 disc brake setup that I've ever seen. Will post pics in a day or two. :icon_cheers:

well... you could get the fender trimming done while its on the 35s itll look goofy for a while but its better in the long run. you probally could get the front clip done enough to be on the road again within a weekend. (depending on how complicated you wanna get with your tube structure. then wait a week and swap the axles under the ranger that weekend :dunno:

it'll take a long ass time lol but it probally could be done. is there a long weekend comming up soon? that'll help

Good lord dude. Do it up!

I've been thinking about doing it in spurts... we'll see what happens. Got a line on 5 brand new 37" IROK's for $1356 CDN taxes in... we'll see what transpires there. Got my rear brakes machined too, so getting ready for the disc brake conversion on a 5x5.5 8.8, pretty stoked. Will take pictures.

37s are kinda small. You need to over shoot for when you want to upgrade again.

Well I thought 38's, but I'm running low on cash money. And until I get the swap mostly complete, I can't sell more stuff to recoup funds. I say running low on cash because I haven't decided if I'm going to link on air shocks yet or not...

Decisions decisions, hey, lol.

You know you want to link it man, why build the rear suspension twice? Do it once and do it right. :D

Well... see I wouldn't build it twice probably... If I left it leaf sprung, I'd leave it as it is now. If I link it, it's getting air shocks at all four corners. Who knows... it might get them in the front anyway, simply due to the ease of install rather than building coil buckets and all that jazz. I dunno, whatever happens, happens. :D

the difference between 37 and 38 is nothing... lol and holy crap good deal on the tires i paid $1030cdn for my 33" duratracs and i only got 4

Aaaaaaaaalright, ordered me up two air shocks... maybe going to order two more?:icon_confused:
