Wow, some of you guys will believe anything.

Did you know "gullible" wasn't in the dictionary?

And isn't there something a bit strange about mixing Revelations with the Mayan calendar? There is nothing special about 2012 except that it was a convenient "far in the future" number for a 1000 year old civilization....how many of you guys contemplate what will be going on in 3008?

No, the world will not end in 2012 or any other time soon. Put the tinfoil hats away.

I'm the type of person to see both sides of an argument.

According to realistic standards, it's just another day in the life. Wars rage on, recession looms, and jobs are scarce. Wars have always happened, weapons have always been developed, people have always been gettin' killed, and technology increases.

But you have to ask yourself.. how advanced can technology become? How fast can computers be? In this current time, they're to the point where they aim the guns, select the most effective type of bullet, level it out, and ask for a human to pull the trigger. Soon they'll be pulling it themselves.. A universal currency and a "non-traditional, good looking, young leader" will take over and promise to make everything better.. with... yup you guessed it.. CHANGE. What's Osama's headline campaign? CHANGE. He's gonna "fix" everything, and the signs are fast approaching. According to Biblical terms of course. Read the book of Revelations if there's any doubt in your mind. Or thanks to technology, Google it.

Then again there's been hundreds, if not thousands of predictions of the apocalypse. And last I checked, they've all been wrong so far.

I could go on for days...

Believe what you will. I am still unsure of what to believe, as are many. I just find it coincidental that many signs and many predictions point toward the same day... Scary huh?

I have read the book of revelations, studied it and the book of Daniel my Freshman year and Obama is not the anti- Christ, and the Muslims do not start Armageddon.

In my version of the Bible, it quotes Jesus as saying "and all of you who are alive today will live to see this happen"...

In saying that, it was not meant that the people who heard the prophesy would live thousands of years, but that what was said would happen within their normal lifetime...

I don't doubt that the end times can be nearer than we think because "he will come like a thief in the night and you will not have time to prepare"...so be prepared at all times...meaning that once you commit to this belief you must carry it forward and refresh it daily...

I will say, however, that my personal thoughts on this are somewhat fixed...the "end times" are something we can expect in our own personal relationship with God and can happen without a human imposed timeline...we can live in a 'living hell' by sinning or we can have 'heaven on earth' through our belief...and watch the miracles happen "in our lifetime"...

Imposing a human timeline and linking it to events is not what God is about...it is a personal relationship...and nobody here can describe it to another in any way that will make that other person understand any better...it's like the trying to describe "Chi"...once you think you understand and try to put it into words others just look at you and say "yeah, right!"...

We can, however, share the joy and beauty of a spiritual event with others...just don't try to describe it...

There is a "reason" for someone to claim the world is about to end several times a year. Unless there is a credible reason to believe one, only a fool would take them seriously. Now, there is a serious problem in that many folks are very badly prepared to judge credibility.

Most people believe the Mayan's Dec. 12, 2012 is the end of the world because they were well advanced, for their time, in the study of astronomy. Everyone wants to believe they know something we don't. But the skies are constantly monitored and astronomical events such as meteor/asteroid impacts or gamma ray bursts or whatever have not been found yet.

Identity crisis...that would put us all on equal footing and the majority of people in all three countries are too proud of their background...even though it would probably open up a whole new world of opportunities...like, oh, I don't know, we could buy their sisters for much less...
