Am I retarded or are these axles this strong???????

^^^ In a jeep application, in general, the front D30 is usually stronger then the D35 rear and blow's up accordingly.

Ahh, okay I understand now, thanks for clarifying.

The D35 is definitely the stronger axle no question, due to it's larger ring gear and pinion shaft diameter. The problem is a D35 is just too small to take up duty as a rear axle which puts a far more intense torque load on it, but it works quite nicely for front duty.

It's all in how you drive. I drove my Sidekick for a couple years around on 32" TSL's and thru the Rubicon and never broke a front diff housing or cv (weak points on kicks). On last years UA there was a XJ running stock axles on 35's or 37's and didn't break anything the whole trip!

well ok, a wrangler doesn't weigh as much as a trailduster so I guess I can see the way that would work. And 39in muds plus v-8 plus the weight and then a 44..... ok light wheeling but they talk about something to throw the family in and go wheelin. I don't know about you guys but I wouldn't wanna have my family out there stuck in the woods with a broke axle or u-joint or the such, and I know it can happen no matter wut but it has a higher chance with that set-up. But it would work and you would have that bit of nagging in the back of your mind saying "be careful, be careful, not too much power..." just because you know there is a higher risk with the components you have.
