Am I blind?

Pffft, the ones on my previous Ranger and Sport Trac didn't last that long. Replaced on the 3/36 warranty.

Same here, replaced by Ford when I got my left caliper and the rest of the brake assembly replaced under warranty just before it ran out. They did an alignment, and now I have a little bit of bump steer, not bad but it's an annoyance, just not a bad enough one for me to take care of.

just replaced mine too and now they have zerk fittings on them much better, plus the upper ball joints are blue so my truck now has blue balls haha

i have to replace mine, what company did you use?
does anyone else have any recomendations?

hey i changed the oil in a new mercedes the other day. It does not come with a dipstick for anything... you have to tell the comp to check it. Or if the owner wants it doen "the old fashioned way" you have to go to mercedes and buy a dipstick for the engine... it has the tube there, but has a rubber plug in the top of the tube :icon_thumby:

ha, i work at a bmw dealer.... they dont have them either.. there was a huge recall problem from bmw with the oil level sensors, they would always say they were low! lol, we had people putting 10+quarts of oil in their motors until they realized that something was wrong! lol.. most bmw owners are not very bright.

I don't think any rangers had grease fittings from the factory.

Not true!! My stock 1996 4x4 has at least half a dozen grease fittings under the front end!!:icon_thumby:

My 96 2.3 has grease fittings up front because my friend greased them. I have no idea if they are aftermarket though.

Rangers up to 1997 with TTB/TIB have zerk fittings. 98+ with SLA do not have fittings.

2 votes for moog, good nuff for me, thanks for your opinion guys.

have you owned it since new?

I bought it from the original owner who kept it 100 percent STOCK, besides thats how ford USE to do it before it went to SEALED components/non greasable.

It's common knowledge anyways about the grease fittings UP-UNTIL year 1997!!!!!

It's all good, no need for a pissing match on whether or not rangers came stock with grease fittings or in your words and I quote ( I don't think any rangers had grease fittings from the factory ) :icon_cheers:

My '85 didn't have greasable TRE's when I got it, it does now. They were SHOT, I am guessing original.

Generally stock stuff is "sealed for life", replacement is greasable, even Motorcraft.
