I bought a well used (260K miles) 2003 XLT 3.0L a couple of weeks ago. It is nice and straight and a California vehicle, so no rust. It had a big low end knock so a local shop swapped in a decent lower mileage engine and it purrs pretty nicely now. I'm retired and have plenty of time to tinker but can't do the big stuff like engines any more. Pretty much every rubber bushing and ball joint is gone so I'm gradually working my way through the suspension. I want to make it all as new as I can. So far I've replaced the sway bar links, upper control arms (Moog) and shocks (KYB Excel-G) and everything has gone pretty smoothly. I bought the lower control arms and coil springs but after feeling the weight of them, I'm not sure that I want to tackle those on my own.
One question I have - the lower control arm bump stops are broken. Does anyone know where I can get those or have a recommendation for a universal equivalent?
