So one of the ladies at work gave me a bottle of mothers PowerMetal Polish for Aluminum. I have these rims on my truck. Will this work on polishing them up?

Aluminum Wheel Polish?

Thanks. BTW what kind of material do the stock rims consist of? Is it a mixture of metals?

Thanks

those rims may have a clear coat on them, but if not the polish will work, only experience i have had with polishing aluminum rims is that they cloud very quickly especially in rain

So basically this polish is worthless to me? How will it work on Chrome rims?
Aluminum Wheel Polish?

This is what my dad has on his tahoe ( I know just like everyone else...)

Maybe I will just give it to him then.

I've always used chrome polish on chrome and aluminum polish on aluminum. :D When you try and polish a clear coated aluminum rim, it's a lot different than trying to polish one that's not - less black crap comes off - but it's hard to describe. A clear coated rim doesn't get oxidization either. I have a set of centerlines and one is clear coated - it was repaired at one time before I bought them. Paid $350 for all with center caps and good tires.

haha yea you can be rubbing for hours on one spot and still get the black crap off, its never ending.

Yeh personally I really dont care about how clean my rims looks. its a 12 year old truck that while in good condition still is a truck and has scratches, dents, etc. It sounds like its a PITA to polish rims and I personally dont care that much. I will hold onto it for a while and regift it to someone else...
