Alternator not charging

I know this isn't the right forum but I thought it would get the most feedback here.

Was leaving work Thursday afternoon and noticed the amp gauge reading to the left of NORMAL. It usually sits on the M. I stopped at our store closer to home and did a system test. Battery good. Starter good. No output on Alternator. Drove it home and removed the alternator and battery. Took them into work and charged the battery up, with the alternator test showing good compared to a new unit on the shelf.

Went back home and inspected the following: Field plug was trashy looking so I replaced it. Pulled the MAX60 fuse and it was good. Looked at all the wiring I could get to and they were good. I'm leaning toward the fuse link on the wiring between the starter and alternator but not sure.

Has anyone run into this and found a solution? Would love to find a simple fix and not have to admit defeat and take it to an electrical shop.....

Check to see that the alternator is GETTING power. Most people overlook the fact that the alternator needs a second or so of juice from the battery to get itself going. Then check the big wire coming out of the alternator and see that it's not damaged.

tcheck 15amps micro fuse in power box and maybe the ground ---»motor»--«battery«---
