under the hood theres a squeal. and it not that typical belt squeal.
the noise comes and goes as im driving and slowly has gotten worse.
sometimes out of nowhere it wil get really loud.
if my hood is open is actually quite loud.. you would have to raise you voice to talk over the noise . . the sound seems to be coming from the alterator
the noise does change with the rpms of the motor. so i figure it had to be something on the belt..
is is possible for the the internal ( like bearings) in the alternator to have gone bad.. the alternator is working properly.

any ideas?

its probly a bearing in thewater pump, atl, some thing like that or power steering pump.

any pay too pin point which one is bad??
when i did my head gasket the i noticed the alt felt pretty bad

open the hood and find exactly were its comin from, my belt was doin the same thing so i replaced them, look at the belts and if you see any cracking in them or chunks taken out replace them,or take a bar of bath soap and hold it to the bottom of the belts while the motor is on to get it lubed up and see if that helps, watch out for the fan and all that good
