Almost done with the 302 swap, encountered a problem!!


Don't mean to jump in on your discussion, but could you explain how to set the timing using a vacuum gauge? That sounds like a very handy procedure! Thank you.


Hey I got it running perfect, I had the incorrect firing order (DAMN ALLDATA!!!)

I went on google and found the proper way to route the wires, and the correct firing order and it now runs awesome.

I also replaced the fuel pump with a 1988 lincoln towncar pump and it dwarfs the shitty ranger pump that came out of it.

Make sure you don't have plug wires #1 and #4 run side by side, as they are notorious for short arcing through the wires to each other...I learned this the hard way on my mustang years ago
