oh and if you go with us to TB you realize we arent scared of dents....especially TREEman john lol :thefinger:

trees

I'm a little more wanting to keep the old heep of bolts in a somewhat pristine condition. I'm going for my own pleasure and enjoyment, so you guys can call me chicken all ya want when I bypass the tree swiping and debarking! I'll save that for the loggers and a proper debarker. I do however take a half decent photo so I can capture your attempts at loggin! Might even bring along the video camera and getcha in action!:icon_cheers:

lol i wont make fun of you...im on stock front suspension with 2 inch spacers and a chevy leaf swap out back...

So I got bad news this morning when I called my resident wrench expert. Had talked to him about helping me out or doing my rings, pinions, Powertrax Lock-rite in with 4.56s. He said once I got it all let him know. Joe was at it last night till midnight putting a new motor in his chevy (I'm not going to knock the guy for his choice of junk to drive) but sure you guuys are going to have a go at it here where he won't see it. HAHA Finally got him at about 9:30 today, he has to finish the motor had three trannys and I think it was two more motor jobs come in before my call this morning. The guy is swamped for 7-10 days. Good for him, oh so BAD for me. :(
So I just sent a PM to Ranger SVT beggin and gravallin for some friendly help. I told him John put me up to it the other day, so he can throw the blame on him. I've only talked with Rick on PM but have spoken with John quite extensive on the phoone the other day, so felt he'd be ok with me saying he said Rick might help me out.
Don't you just love it when someone volunteers ya for something you had no idea you was getting volunteered for! We call it voluntold in the Army!
I can be a sarcastic and button pushing kind of guy and it seems since I been on here most TRS guys are. SLO-Vo sure giving me hell about not being a detriment to the environment and not wanting to devastate the forest of TB with tree debarking. And I'm fairly sure he even kinda voluntold me to be desig photog.
Anyway that's the morning update. Well a small piece. I was skipping out of doing anything with army again today (has turned into a daily event) HEHEE! When I pulled into Lowe's and thinking me and John w ere talking about making sway bar quick disconnect well here's a pic of what I came up with. I ripped out the rusted bolt in the P-lot with the help of a miniture crescent and a crappy socket from one of those $10 auto parts suitcase fix all behind the seat tool kits and a strong does of PB Blaster (I hate WD-40 except for wet distribs). Hobbled my ole butt in there and started riffling thru draws of overpriced junk. here's a pic;
Also went to advance because I been having this HUGE corrosion problem even though I sprayed down the batt terminals with paint. I bought replacement terminals ends that splice into my original cables and fuse block x6 to wire up and run my 4 KCs, the amps, deer hornet and whatever else I've had pigtailed onto the side of the batt terminal that is probably causing all that corrosion anyway. Two much junk and mating surfaces. So Todays going to be some wiring, which I truly hate. But can handle, I wired several H-Ds I can easily do this. I also picked up some tire plugs, so when John or Slo-Vo convince me to run up on a tree or I run over their previously discarded bark and puncture a swamper I can plug it. I'll either have a air tank or get one of them crappy compressors that take a day by the time I go! I also got two sheets of MDF board to replace the ones on my 8' work benches that been sitting outside two months under a tarp and sucked up moisture and now look like two overstuffed sponges, stuff swool up almost three times as thick!
Also got some new plain chrome acorn lugnuts so I can get rid of them crappy other brand wheel lock things that are falling apart!
Yeah I'm long winded when I writing, get over it.

looks good....is that a 7/16" pin????

and i am sure Rick will help.....he is used to being Voluntold....just ask Brandi:icon_rofl::icon_rofl::icon_rofl:

and it was i who designated ya "Official Photog"......:D

l8r, John

Sure is 7/16 and guess what me being the super nice butthole that I am I picked up extras with pins and washers and threw them in the side boxes. I'll throw ya a set on the 26th!
It's a little loss and I wish the pin would go into the hole that is almost visible and it would make them tighter. I probably could have got by with the 2" ones but I bought 3". Thinking of cutting them down a little when I get some of this other crap done, but they seem to work just fine.
That retaining pin isn't near as close to the spring or brake line as it looks, photo angle.

sway bars are for chicks:thefinger:

lol im not the tree de-barker.....john is :D

Heat

I'm moving like stagnant hundred year old pond water! Got all this stuff to install and making less progress than a turtle stuck in super glue! Moved all the yard equipment out of the shop into an old shed building that's half way water resistant was making it just too crowded. Yoou guys are ahead of me, don't have to move every couple of years and reorganize everything. I also got one workbench redone with MDF board on the top and knee high for a shelf. Can't find the dang charger for the circular saw, but I think I'm gonna suck the last volt of power out of this battery and make it! Going to finish the other one tonight. I'll get on the truck tomorrow. Glad I got a 1 1/2 weeks till TB, rate I'm going I'm going to half to pull an all nighter just to drive my creaping butt the 21.9 miles to get there!
Glad I still got that sway bar though, this heat got me feeling dizzy, I might start swaying on the way there and need it to keep me from swaying off in a ditch! Oh well If I happen too it'll give me a chance to check out some new articulating, unless of course it's when the lakes on bothe sides of the road, then it ain't really going to matter and the snorkel options I was talking with John about wouldn't help either!
:icon_rofl:

Frank,
I'm 40 with a bad hip that might be getting totally replaced within the next few weeks. Have to call the orthopedic back on thursday, takes forever to get a referral through the army. Old Motorcycle injury, but the army has worn it down bad. Have fun with that fence! I'd come help ya but I'm getting shit organized here so I can get some more truck work done!
John,
I'll be there with or without those gears, locker, shackles or anything else if it comes to it.
Really looking forward to it.
Now I'm going to stuff my face then enjoy some
WHEW White Lightnin!!

Was ya fixin that tractor so you could pull more fat chicks? Or gonna hitch up a wagon and get a whole load of em at once? I learned how to rope back several years ago in Texas, a bit rusty at it, but sure I could shake out a loop if I had to help a Brother out, Nothing like "Running Block" need some corraled up or culled out, let me know!
:icon_confused: This Icon says confused but it looks more like head scratching thinkin to me, I'm using it!
