Allans 94 b4000 build

Yeah deffinitly does. There is 351k km on it, not sure how to get that rear main out of there, any ideas? It is leaking a little so i will definitly replace it. Hopefully i'll have it on the road mid june, lastest would be july. Hahah yeah im sure it will get stuck pretty easy, mostly because ive never been muddin in a truck before. Still crossin my fingers that their is atleast a LS in it, And hopeing more that the front and rear gears were swapped out for 4.10s :dntknw:

The axle tag should say if it does have LS, if it has the factory stuff in it. Tech library has a writeup on how to find out.

For the rear main:
Note how deep the current one is set in there.
Drill a small hole in the steel ring on each side of the current seal and drive in a screw. Then you can use the head of the screw to pry against, working back and forth. You could install more screws if necessary around the circumference.

Once the old is out be sure to check the surface of crank snout to see if there is a groove worn. Ford sells a main seal kit that includes a repair sleeve. The 4.0 L was notorious for leaking. I think the surface finish was too smooth or something like that.
Otherwise you could install the new one so it does not sit in the groove.
Don't forget to oil the seal so it does not burn up.

Easy to check the gear ratio. Lift a rear tire and count the number of turns of the driveshaft to the wheel. If the wheel will not turn, you might be smilin with trac-loc. With an open diff, turn the wheel around two revolutions while counting the turns of the driveshaft. That number of driveshaft turns will be your ratio. For a trac-loc, you may have to pick up both wheels, and only do one revolution of the wheel.

I think thats about the worse combo that you can get.

man ive been searching high and low for a truck like that. i really really want/need and extended cab (gonna swap onto my frame) ive even resorted to askin bout truck's sittin in backyard's.

my truck had the same gearing 3.27's open 27 spline and whatnot. to say the least that gearing sucked on 33's unless your runnin 70mph. but now my gearing situation is even worse. i'm runnin 3.50's with 37's (still street driven) hopefully this winter it will be geared and locked.

Wow, how fast did your clutch wear out? sounds like your pretty hard up for a cab, i am surprised that its that hard to find one. What kind of fuel millage do you get with them 37s and 3.5 gears, must be rough eh?

@ Dangerranger83 I agree, but it sounds like kroussinoffroad might be alittle worse off lol :icon_twisted:

Still waiting for my clutch to come in, probley be another week before it gets here. I knocked out the alxle stud the other day and gave 1 rim a good coat of gloss black. Still raining alot around here and pretty busy, havent had much time to get under there.

Plan is to get this girl on the road ASAP and as cheap as possible. Then going to find a cheap parts rig.

clutch still grab's pretty good. once in a great while can smell it slightly on takeoff. as for the cab everyone around here seem's to think since the can get a couple hundred buck's in scrap metal for their truck it should sell for over a 1000$. ive been trying to be patient and find a good deal but i'm pretty anxious to get the cab swaped.

Not sure of what kind of milage i'm gettin with the truck. very seldom do i fill it all the way up.this truck still see's ALOT of pavement. but i dont drive it daily since i have a company vehicle.
