Air Bag Light

I was driving home from school today for spring break and I made it about 30 miles before the air bag light came on and it stayed on until I shut the truck off and started it back up. When I started it back up it shut off. Its a '99 3.0. Does anyone know what might have caused this?

Mine will do it for some reason if I use the parking break. I have no idea why, but it does, if i turn the truck off and back on it goes away, so i dont worry about it.

A 99 will have a succession of flashes, a pause, then more flashes. Count the flashes. The first set of flashes is the first digit(flashes 3 times is number 3), pause is a separator, the next series is the next digit. The series will repeat a few times. Get the codes and check them in the dealer service book. It will tell you what is wrong.

Anytime your airbag light is on. your airbag won't deploy in cse of an accident.

the light was steady. It wasn't flashing or anything. I'm not gonna worry about it unless it happens again. I just did't want a surprise airbag deployment driving down the road. Thanks for the help.
