I have a 92 ranger with I beam suspension. I want to do a mid travel/long travel build. I want to build this truck to go through the desert at speed and handle well through whoops.

There is a pair of stock width beams that have been bent and fabricated to fit a 12 or 14” coilover with extended heim radius arms that I can buy. Would the stock width beams be good to run with the coil over or should I try to get some wider I beams? If so what beams do you all recommend?

For the coil over I was debating between a fox 2.5 x 12 or a sway a way 2.5 x 12 both remote reservoirs. What do you guys think will work better or the same?

Any other ideas or advice is appreciated thank you

Personally because of my background I use Fox Factory 2.0 or 2.5 w/ Eibach springs. As you know, it's all about the ability of rebound & compression adjustability initially. Once you get that dialed in, then you can order whatever valving you want altering the standard 60/40 ratio. There is also spring rate; linear or dual rate-progressive. And the nitrogen gas pressure adjustment. There some faber's that offer beams. Here is some info on Bill Stroppe & Manny Esquerra ranger from the 80s using the twin I

Cool thank you I made a similar post to the badlinesgoodtimes forum so I’ll wait for a response from them

yeah.... incrementalism is not all that bad....just get going and keep advancing slow and steady. learning slow and with limited equipment has advantages.
