When big lights and a winch are in play even with dual batts the stock alt sucks. Now this is with hard use of the winch and lights. As to say night wheelin with a lot of winching. With my old setup consisting of two ever-crap 1000 CA's and the stock alt many a nights I had to let the rig set and charge when I should have been winching to get myself out of the woods before 3 AM.

With the recent addition of a rear winch I upgraded. 140 amp GM one wire, dual optima blue tops with isolation switches. Havent really wheeled it yet as im not in my normal location in the world. But I know it will be the cats ass.
