Definitely true. Around here, its gotten so bad that they've been having ad's on the TV and radio to promote watching out for bikers. Just about a month ago or so, a drunk driver killed 4 of them on the interstate... at 8am... with a BAC over nearly 4x the limit. Its dangerous out there, even more so on a bike, stay safe everybody!
I think that was about bac in August. The guy stopped to get more at a gas station shortly before the crash and could barely walk, doesn't remember a thing about it. Just got his breathalizer thing removed for good behavier. Bad thing all around, a guy I work with was friends with one of the guys.
+1. Stupidity, pure and simple. No sympathy for those hurt/killed if a helmet could have prevented it.
When it comes being ran over by an SUV, I think don't know how much it would have helped. I am all for them, but I don't think it would have made a whole lot of a difference in this case.
