i thought that the 97 ranger had 4 wheel abs....my rotors have have speed rings...and i have the holes for the sensors....but they are coverd by the spindal...and no wires going down to the steering knuckle.....

so my little brain is saying that i dont have it...is there suppose to have it

follow your front brake lines all the way back and see if they are routed in threw the abs motor.

My 95 has 4 wheel ABS :icon_cheers: ...I guess it was only an option on the 4wd models during those years.

The rotors usually come in two flavors, with or without the speed (exciter?)ring. Interesting that you have the ones for a 4WABS.

As far as I knew before 95 had RABS.

95 and 96 came with 4w ABS

and after 96 it became optional to have 4w ABS.

4WABS wasn't "optional" in 95-96.

this is why if you do the two-piston brake upgrade on an earlier truck you need to specify a 1997 brake hose for the drivers side.

My setup came off a 1997 and it didn't have ABS, and that caused some confusion when I was putting it together and looking to buy new brake hoses.
