hey, im new here, so humor me.

I want to put a switch on the dash that disables the ABS system. there are 2 fuses- one that is for the ABS motor and one for the ABS solenoid. should i put a switch on both, switch on both of them- but separately (2 switches), or a switch on one or the other?

i know alot of you are going to say that its unsafe not to have ABS and that you stop faster with it, but i do not believe so, i believe that i can feel it slipping and do what is called threshold braking. plus it will be fun in the snow:icon_thumby: ABS just feels wierd to me. i want to have full control of the car and not have a computer assist me in braking.

... Alright... If you say so. I would put a switch on the wires running to the ABS hydraulic unit. Its should be relatively easy.

i was thinking of doing that too, but there are a few tutorials online for subarus and they just say to bypass the fuse and create a line with a switch and another fuse in a fuse holder but they dont say.... i guess subarus only have the 1 ABS fuse.

bump. i would like to have an answer by tomarrow =( anyone with any other suggestions? guesses will do, lol.

if i just remove the fuse and test it and if it doesnt work ill put in a swwitch? will ust disabling the ABS motor do it? will it make anything else mess up?

I am not absolutely positive about this but pretty sure the motor will not run if the Electronic Module is disabled. Just pull the fuse that is in the under hood fuse/relay box and see. Then if you want to disable it with a switch run two wires to where the fuse was plugged in, and put an in-line switch and fuse in it, BE SURE and fuse it, ABS Modules are expensive. BTW, the puming action may feel weird but I guarantee it is better at stopping the vehicle than you are. It took me awhile to reach this conclusion but I absolutely know they work well. Take it from an old man. desertrat
