ABS idiot light in the dash just started coming on

Ive replaced my abs sensor before cuz my light went on but its got a mind of its own. Sometimes it stays off for weeks at a time, then just comes back on for a few days. I really have no idea why mine does this but it doesnt effect my braking so I ignore it.

Same here. I gave up on it. put a brand new abs sensor and changed out the abs module and RABS Proportioning valve and bled the hell out of the brakes and still the light comes on.

Or, if you two want to continue fumbling in the dark, try checking the electrical connector on the bottom of the master cylinder reservoir. There should be a gray plastic plug with 3 wires going to it. Check for corroded or broken connections at that sensor. It is the connection for the low fluid level sensor. If those connections are broken it will cause the RABS light to come on. It will also cause the 'BRAKE' light to not illuminate with the key in the start position and the parking brake off -- which of course, eliminates any warning function the 'BRAKE' light performs.

Actually, there are several pre-checks that have to be performed, or the trouble code can lead you off on a wild goose chase and you'll end up replacing parts you don't need to. Ask me how I know.

Not whining, just saying its not doing any harm to me so ignoring it is an option. There are no codes for my truck either.

could be one tire is different size then the other side or lower on air also,just saw an episode of extreme 4x4 that abs light was an issue & those are also some items that could cause it to come one
