? About solid axle

Yeup...I'll have around 3500 into my swap without buying tires. That's all parts, all the labor is myself.

I was thinking about $3000 to $3500 for the swap so I'm pretty close

He said he's in that much without a shop so not close at all. You can probably add a grand or two easily.

I'm at about 800 bucks plus about 1000 or more dollars bought of tools on mine and I have a set of stock tons laying on my garage floor and a leaf setup for the rear

Good gawd!!!! Your doing it wrong lol.
I paid $2000 for my Rockwells, with lockers and new wheel bearings ($250/wheel X 4 wheels).
Im a deal makin mo-fo tho. Ill wait months to find good deals.

I got my D-44 for free, my 31spl 9" for $100 on my first build.

I laugh at anyone saying they can solid axle a truck for under a grand and make it any better then it was stock.... Gears, locker, bearings, brakes, balljoints etc..., it all adds up quick!

X2. I probably got over $100 just in grade 8 hardware. Dont forget consumables like cut off wheels, welding wire/ rod, gas, etc. New hoses, bushings and fluids. Axle rebuild kits while you got them out is not a bad investment. It does add up real quick.
