a4ld transmission weight?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much an a4ld transmission+converter weighs? Thanks!

Never weighed it when I took it off to replace it with a Mazda 5 speed, but it seemed to weigh about 100# with converter; easy to carry around the garage at any rate.

Mine was a 4wd trans with no fluid in it. I must have been so happy to get rid of it that it only felt like 100# (of crap)

That is the complete weight "WITH" fluid for a 4wd A4LD. Don't ask me how I know... I just do.

so I should have no problem shipping my 4wd a4ld+converter with no fluid via fed-ex ground since its under the max weight of 150...right? lol

I couldn't see a problem... but you better make sure it's completely dry and that it falls within the size restrictions.

ok i was looking for the weight for a 2wd. i'm trying to find out how much my drive train weight is before my swap.

It's under 150, but you have to build a shipping crate to ship it in, I recently shipped a dry T5 trans and it came to 130# with the crate...

sweet that means that the AOD 2wd and the A4LD 2wd weight just about the same. very little extra weight from one to the other. Thanks
