a4ld issues

have a 94 4.0 a4ld 4x4 w/165k. It seems that the TC is not locking up or OD is not shifting. If I clear the ecm by unhooking the battery it will shift normally for a short time then will start to act up after a few cycles. It doesn't show the SES light and fluid and filter are changed and look and smell normal. I plan to scan for a code when I get a chance but would like to hear if anyone has a idea how I can narrow this down. I hope it is a sensor or solinoid but need a little guidance. Thank you

scaned for codes got a 181 and 189. haynes manual says rich in both banks. all other systems a 111. checked fuel pressure, 30psi with vac line on 40psi with line off. changed O2 sensors and unhooked battery for a while then test drove. ran and shifted good till I did a accelleration test. seemed very sluggish shifted at 3200rpm tops with little power. then would not lock up t/c. runs 2200 rpm at 55 and feels like it is pullin a plow. plugs, fuel and air filter are also new. I don't know what to do next.
