ok i have a blown up 3.0 in my ranger. trying to find a new motor for it. it has the flex fuel set up on it. my question is can I a put a regular 3.0 in my truck(since they are easier to find). please help.
thanks bill
is the block ruined or did you just blow the head gaskets? if the block is still good i know around here i can take a v8 block and they will rehone it for less than 50bucks and that is cleaning and basicly getting the block ready to put back in the car or truck now for heads unless they are cracked or warped they are still good just send them off to be rebuilt by the time you go and buy a old motor you may get a good one or you may get a bad one and i know the scrap yards around here would never put a warranrty on a motor im not sayin dont trust them but you should be ver careful with how much you spend. now to answer your question i dont see why you wouldnt be able to put a regular 3.0 in your truck the only difference i know between the flex fuel is the heads are different im not sure about the pcms
