Ok, I have had this issue for about a year. Every now and then my truck wants to hesitate when I start it. Sometimes its in the morning, sometimes its in the afternoon. Cold or warm air doesnt seem to matter. The enging will turn over several times, but not start. I have turned on the ignition and I do hear the fuel pump in the tank prime the system. Not sure what else to look for. I have replaced spark plugs and wires about 3 months ago. Problem was there before and is still there. My next guess would be one of the coil packs, but once the engine starts it runs fine and accelerates normal. I figured i would have a problem with the engine running if it was a coil problem. Idle is smooth for the most part. Twice I have come to a stop and the engine wanted to die on me. I had the A/C turned on also. Usually it bogs my engine down and the a/c compressor will kick on and off. (thought this was normal on a 4 cyl.)

I have checked for error codes and nothing comes up on the scanner. And no Check engine light.

Cornfused!

What motor do you have?

2.9 is a late 80's early 90's v6.

4 banger in 99 was a 2.5.

As for the idle issue...Check operation of IAC...My 2.5 (which is what I am going to assume you have) has problems with this (it is a problem on the Lima 2.x engines)

yeah its a 2.5L engine not a 2.9.

Thanks for your help.
