I have a 2003 Ranger that needs a new front bumper. I'd like to upgrade to one with fog lights while I'm at it. I came across this truck on the Ranger Forums:
I believe it was a 99 that he swapped the front end to 01-03 but it still had the 99 bumper. I honestly think this bumper style with that front end looks nicer than the correct 01-03 bumper that only has the small chrome upper and the rest is textured plastic. My question is, does anyone know if there is a major weight difference between these styles of bumpers? I would think the 99-00 would be heavier due to having a larger steel bumper vs the 01-03 being mostly just the plastic valance. Does anyone know?
My 03 will eventually be getting a 5.0 swap, so I'm not trying to add too much extra weight to the front of the truck since the 5.0 already will add some extra weight. Especially because I'm also considering swapping my aluminum hood for a heavier powerdome hood too lol...
