I have a 98 Ranger (4.0 L; 4 WD). When I try to activate cruise control (on, then set) the indicator lamp flashes for a split second but CC does not engage. A little research suggested the cruise control relay. Having purchased it I can find no documentation on where it goes. No mention of cruise control relay in owners manual schematics, nor anywhere else that I can find.

It is not part of the power distribution box in the engine compartment and the only other relays I find are under the dash to the right of the steering column. I can find no description of that bank of relays anywhere.

Any help appreciated. :icon_cheers:

Looking at the diagrams, it looks like it piggy backs off the horn relay.

Anyway, looking at the symptom charts, if the horn works an the brake transducer switch isn't leaking, go get it checked out by a professional.

Still curious about relays

Neither of the items you mention are the culprit. Thanks.

Still would like information on that bank of relays under the dash.
