I have a 98 ranger that is needing a trans soon. I have found a 5spd for cheap. What all does it take to install one in it? I kno I have to chang the pedes cut the hole for the shifter and all that. But what eles? Computer? How about the wireing harness?
Any info will be helpfull.

This topic has been discussed before, so feel free to search for it as well.

To help you we need more info about your truck, like motor, drivetrain, etc.

I recently completed this swap on my 98 Ranger. It wasn't too bad, but you need to have all the parts ready to go when you do it.

You will need the following parts:
- transmission
- flex plate
- flywheel
- starter
- flywheel bolts
- pressure plate bolts
- clutch kit
- slave cylinder
- master cylinder
- clutch hydraulic hose
- clutch pedal assembly
- PCM
- floor shifter plate

I have done 2 with Maurice (mjones). It isn't too bad. Make sure you have the proper tools before you start.

Like said above, do a search.
