Having an issue with a 98 transplant transmission into a 99 3.0 4x4. Transplant has appox 155k. seems as though the transmission won't kick into OD and we have a 0760 code showing. I dropped pan, has some very fine steel sludge, fluid was darker, but no burnt smell. Was hoping to try filter and fluid to see if it make a difference. I was surprised to see the solenoids exposed. So I'm thinking maybe I should swap the "C" solenoid while it open. How do you identify the C solenoid? Should I change all? Checked the electrical connections on shifter side, all clean.
If I missed anything, open to hear all suggestions.
