97fordrunners 97 Ranger build

Thinking about getting a set of pre fab fenders like these Clicky

What do you guys think?

I approve. I've thought about that style of fender if I ever got extreme enough that I felt like removing my bed. If it were mine I would also look at full radius fenders such as this one (this particular one wouldn't fit but the shape is what I'm talking about): http://www.northerntool.com/images/product/images/12640_lg.jpg

I like the look of the full radius wheel opening better, just personal opinion.

I like that one tow just gotta find one that is wide enough, The one I listed is 10" wide and 36 long which is probably a little to long. Gonna try and mock up some of the models with some cardboard to there dimensions so I can get a idea I guess. I do like the round one

I think you guys have Mill's Fleet Farm out there, I would check there as well. I think I saw a few fenders very close to the right size when I was walking through the automotive/trailer section a while back.

Oh yeah I got 2 Fleet Farms 20 min in either direction on I94. Gotta love that store
Will have to check there I forgot they have a trailer building supplies. I looked at Tractor supply to but they didn't have anything in stock that would fit right

what drop braket are you using on the drivers side (passenger Side Beam)???

I am curious too, I believe the bracket is custom but I would like to see a pic of how you attached it to the truck. Im loving that you are staying with the TTB. This build gave me great inspiration to keep mine too. Im now subscribed and the I tranny I got from you is in place and now I am just waiting on a new hydraulic clutch line.

Hey all, Sorry its been so long since an update, Just got settled into a new place and working 70 hours + a week but got the ranger here and gonna start tearing into it real soon and get the front suspension corrected as far as coil spring rate

Haven't been on for awhile but here is my new tow rig. its a '87 Ford L8000 with a 7.8L Ford/ New Holland Diesel and a 5spd trans, Truck is pretty clean and runs like a top. The Trailer is a '94 Wabash custom with air ride, Has heat up in the front which is now an office and also has a roof A/C unit for the summer, as well as fold down bunk beds. My Brother is building me some ramps for loading the ranger in exchange for my Benelli Shot gun that he has been eye balling for awhile now.

Gonna re-paint the truck ,and flames on trailer Metallic Grey and the whole trailer black again cause its pretty rough and after removing all the decals it sucks, also gonna get new hubs to convert the wheels to aluminum instead of Daytons. Also have the stuff ordered to make it dual stacks with a muffler under the frame, really not much to that on this truck thankfully. eventually I would like to stretch the frame about 4' for better handling and ride but we shall see about that.

I am going to be using it for work mainly, I already have a 30gal IR compressor with a crappy Kohler motor but it works great, and I got my tool box in and mounted now to so just need some drawer units for hardware and air fittings and get a good power inverter.

As for the Ranger I have the new coils on order from JBG so once those are here I am gonna get em in so I can do a couple winter runs here around the beginning of Feb, even though there isn't any snow to speak of here but I am hopeful.

Well after 3 1/2 months waiting for new Superlift coils from Bronco Graveyard they finally decided to get Skyjackers instead for me and I got one side in tonight and it is definitely much closer to the spring rate I need for my heavy rig so i'm excited to get the other side done tomorrow and pictures will follow.... Stay tuned

So I got the EB Deaver Coils out to compare to the Skyjacker ones that I was sent which they told me would be same un-sprung length as the deavers only to find this.

So For sh*ts and giggles I swapped em in anyways and they are stiffer like they said but the front still is to low cause the coil length difference, so now I dunno if I should just leave it alone for now and run it or see if they will swap me the next taller coil cause as of right now I even have a 2" poly spacer underneath the lower coil bucket so I could in all reality go to up 2 sizes but man are they gonna be hard to shoe horn in there, good thing I got a good spring compressor I guess.

Make them swap ya for their bigger size! Especially if they told you they would be the same length. Or maybe they sent you the wrong one's? I would defiantly call them though.

haha just realized how long ago you posted that. What did you end up doing?

Still have them in for now, truck is in storage till spring I think. Got a new baby on the the way any day now. They do ride nice and I had a set of Poly spring spacers that I installed under the coils that leveled it off pretty close but I think I'll get a 5.5" set in the spring. Had it out this fall hunting and was going accross a tilled corn field at about 35mph and felt better than some trucks on the highway so I think I finally found my spring rate

What you doing with the 190 springs, or do you still have em?
