Does anybody know off hand how much transmission fluid to put back in after doing a filter change? 1997 Ford Taurus 3.0 SOHC.

Usually about 6 or 7.

That is why I try to catch it so I can measure.

Thanks Adsm. Broken tranny line so there wasn't much left to measure in my case.

So I don't know if anybody's had this issue but I absolutely couldn't get the new rubber gasket to seal. After several attempts, completely covered from head to toe in tranny fluid, ready to drive the old girl off a cliff, I called a mechanic I know who recommended reusing the old OEM gasket. The thing was 120,000 miles old but it worked! I put it back in and not one drip.
