97 f150 brush guard

Alright, my dad left me his pickup when he passed away, its a 97 f150 regular cab long box with the 4.6 4x4, want to get a brush guard for it, found this one here

looks awsome, but the issue i have is that is says 99-03 f150 mines a 97, i didnt think they changed at all between the years in ways to affect the way the brush guard is mounted. I really want this one as the other ones i have found do not compare to this one i strength. Hopefully you can help me with this one.

They changed the bumper for 1999, they went from the older style that has a ledge on top and kind of swoops in to a different style that swoops out.

Some grille guards will fit either truck, some will only fit one or the other... it all depends on how they fit around the bumper.

I have a Westin Sportsman on my '02, it has enough room around the bumper to fit either truck.

If you don't need one right away, you can save a lot of money by buying one used... I payed $60 for mine, I cleaned it up good and threw some rustoleom on it and it still looks great.
