'97 charge system problem

On a side note, I was talking to one of the guys from the last shop that I worked at today. I told him about this thread, and he started laughing. Told me that he has a car in the other day, guy thought he has a bad alternator, so he did the battery cable test and the engine died. And then is wouldn't start up again. He go it towed in to the shop and he alternator was fine, it was a bad wire causing the charging problem. The PCM however was cooked.

If the PCM got fried, the GEM and head unit probably got hit too.
