97 2wd lift or lower?

sorry but that definitly isn't gonna happen, i've owned 13 cj's now and this only my second ranger. How expensive is it to lift a 2wd ranger like this to a reasonable height tho, i know lowering could be done on the cheap
I don't exactly like the idea of a 302 because the cj already has a monster in it. 360 bored .30 stroked with a 401 crank 750 holley double pumper fenderwell headers and yada yada yada

a 2/3 drop can be done for about $400-500

A 3 inch body lift can be done for $150-200
a 2/3 inch "Spindle" lift can be done for $400-500 (Doesn't really increase suspension travel of the truck, just increases suspension static height, lifts the tail with blocks normally

a 5-6 inch suspension lift is like $700 or so IIRC
a 4-5 inch suspension drop is like $700 as well.

the 4 banger in your ranger will not like big tires/lift, it will kill its economy and power. I'd do a 2/3 drop and call it a day.

It's been awhile since you posted the question about lifting or lowering you Ranger. So what did you finally decide to do? I have basically the same truck except mine is a 1996 model. I have the 4 cylinder with the 5 speed. I put 235/75/15 tires on it with 4.10 gears. I'm thinking about doing a 2 inch lift with coil spacers on the front and the factory 2 inch blocks from a Ranger 4wd.

this thread is over a year old i dont even think he is on this forum anymore but i do gotta give u props cause ur new and the only way to find this is by searching which most new members dont do, now for lift i would go like ur gonna do if ur not gonna be going all out offroad 2 inch spacers will work and look just fine but u might wanna use blocks from an f150 they will give u 2 inches

Hey 509lifted, thanks for the info. Yeah, I see a lot of the same questions being asked again and again, I thought I would search for some answers. I'll just throw a new post out there and see what kind of responses I get.

benny they will but i was meaning they wont really give u much flex as say longer/softer coils atleast that is what i have read on here a few times
