I am looking for ideas on how to get the hose extension out of the water pump that is bolted to the same bracket that the alternator is bolt to. I can not get it to twist or any movement at all. Yes, I have even hit it with the purse (I figured someone would be NICE enough to mention something like that). The engine is out and on a stand. The bolts that I mentioned are removed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can get it apart and put back together so I can get the ranger back on the road.

Thanks in advance
Jim

They're a tight fit and likely there's some corrosion on the water pump housing holding it in there... There's several options for replacements on them as well, heck I have one that I didn't end up using if I remember right...

So I dont know the hose extension youre talking about, but heat can work if its not too close to seals or plastic.
I recently found out why heat works... When you heat a bolt or other object inside a solid mass, it expands. And because the solid mass wont allow it to expand circumferentially, then it has to expand lengthwise. once cooled, the circumference shrinks and it will be looser. Sometimes the heat and cool needs to be repeated several times to get enough shrink.
Propane might work, but hotter is better.

The problem is if it's the stock inlet it's plastic into the aluminum water pump so likely one will need to be destroyed to get apart assuming you're changing the water pump while it's apart. The inlets are like $20 if I remember right.
