Hi all,

In the process of replacing my right rear leaf spring mount and shackle. I'm a college student on a budget and originally I was going to replace just the bracket and reuse the shackle to get me through the winter. Upon further inspection, I realized it would be stupid to wait for the shackle to break too. My dilemma is, I purchased a bracket and shackle separately from the dealer. The bracket has a sticker with what I presume to be Ford PN 4L5Z-5775-AA and at a later date I went back and purchased the shackle which is FORD PN E6TZ-5776-B. My buddy also replaced the rear shackle and bracket on his '93 2wd recently extended cab and he says he purchased the bracket-shackle as an assembly for ~$35 (I paid 36 for both the shackle and the bracket) from the dealer (he can't produce a part number though). Unfortunately I did not save the slip for the bracket which I purchased first, but I am wondering if I got ripped off here. Are the shackle and bracket supposed to be sold as an assembly for my make, model and year?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No, they are normally sold as each individual piece. Some dealerships may make different packages and kits, but it is not a ford thing to have a kit. Even each bolt and nut has it's own part number and is normally sold separately.
