96 150 4x4 trouble starting cold

So im in the middle of building my 86 Ranger and last thing i need is engine problems with 96 150 4x4 5.8L. It seems to be having problems starting cold. Its as though its starving for fuel. after about 8 cranks it starts but runs ruff until the idel speed pics up. I changed the fuel filter new plugs wires. Dropped in a new started solinoid and new battery. Once the engine is warm it runs great. So anyone got any ideas.
