SVO stands for "Special Vehicle Operations". its a branch of ford that churns out hopped-up versions of production vehicles. there were 2.3 turbo mustangs, the f-150 lightening, contours, focus', and many others.
the 2.3 use in your truck is the same engine used in the 2.3 turbo mustang/capri/thunderbirds. you can convert your engine to a turbo with bolt-on parts from a 2.3 turbo donor...but its almost as much work as just swapping in a complete 2.3 turbo motor...and the turbo motor has a few internal upgrades that make it stronger than the n/a 2.3 applications.
