with key on engine off i have no power to any of the 4 wires that go to the coil pack. fuel pump primes, truck cranks, cel works.

probed all of the fuses and diodes in the fuse box under the hood, they all have power on both sides with key on.
swapped the ac relay for the eec relay.
messed around with the battery cables and cleaned them up.
swapped out the edis6 module, even though they never go bad.
new crank position sensor last month.

anything else to check?

for context. i brought the truck home from my shop and noticed it had a miss during the drive. while checking for the missing cylinder i checked to make sure the coil pack was plugged in all the way and the wiring harness fell onto the exhaust manifold, but i did not notice it. went to the driver side of the engine and found a plug wire that had a hole burnt into it (it shocked me) turned the truck off and went to get a new plug wire from the garage. i replaced the plug wire and then i was messing with the radio when i noticed the smoke from the wiring harness. it had melted 2 of the wires while the key was on, so i snipped out that part and spliced it back together. i have tried probing it before the splice as well.

i know that edi6 is a very simple system, so i must be missing something. should i go ahead and just replace the diode? any other suggestions? i do have another wiring harness and ecu from a 94 explorer with a 5 speed if it comes to it
