I've read through my Haynes manual and it says that it's under the dashboard, but it doesn't say WHERE it's at.

I've removed the kick panel on the drivers side and I wasn't able to locate the computer there.

I've been digging around under my dash and I see several "boxes" that it could be.

I've even looked behind the glove box.

I can't find the computer. Can someone tell me where it's located please? I believe I have a computer related problem and I'd like to replace it. The problem is, I don't know where it's located.

Does anyone know where it's at in the 1994 4.0L Ranger? If you have a picture of it, that would be a huge bonus. I'm not even sure the size of the box I'm looking for.

I tried searching on the site and didn't find exactly what I needed.

Thanks in advance!!

If its like my 99, its hiding under the cupholders under the center of the dashboard:

If it makes you feel better I didn't even know it was there until I took out my cupholders to clean them one day....

^ thats the RCM module for the airbags. As for the OP did you try looking under the passenger kick panel.

On a 94 drivers side under hood on firewall between brake booster and inner fender. two nuts hold plastic cover on with a bolt in center of wiring to hold to pcm! If I remember they are 10mm head nuts bottom nut is easiest to access with fender liner removed and using extension there is a oval hole allowing access to it. Hope this helps.

I didn't even know airbags had a computer of their own. I just assumed it was for the engine since that where I've seen it on my friend's Spirit and my dad's Toyota Terce- I mean, Nova...:icon_twisted:

Thank you sooo much for the information!

You are exactly 100% spot on! This is where I located the computer. I was surprised at how BIG it is.

I can't get that damn bottom bolt off of the plastic cover for the life of me. You stated to remove the inner fender. How do I take it out please?
