93 Ranger Squeal from Bell Housing

AHA!!
The dreaded Dipstick Shuffle! Very rare.

Now my question is what the hell caused it? PCV Valve seems ok as well as all vacuum lines

I'm not sure about the lack of lube on a 3.0L distributer. It might be the same as the cam synchronizer issue.

@pjtoledo what say you on this subject?

the last distributored 3.0 I had was in an 87 Taurus. that was long before I dissected a cam sync unit.
I see the plot changed to dipstick issues.

does it blow out the tube, or suck in?

I’d check the breather hose and see if it’s clogged or collapsed.
You can also remove the oil fill cap with it running and see if the noise goes away.

Sucks in from dipstick tube. Remove oil cap and it falls on its face and dies. Gotta be a major vaccum leak from intake somewhere. Whether gaskets or hole somewhere
