just bought the truck, on the way home CEL comes one. pull over and notice the smell of burning oil. shut it off, call the guy i bought it from, he meets up with me in his ranger. we both notice oil on the exaust, ok thats not a big deal for me. he told me that when it gets warm the CEL comes on and stays on. drove to a gas station to put 5$ in and head home. no CEL the rest of the way home.

it needs a muffler and seems to have a studder from idel to 2500rpm. that got better on the way home.

anyone think my o2 sensor is trashed? truck runs fine. just the CEL and hole in the exaust:icon_twisted:
 
so the CEL only came on 2 times today. but i replaced the muffler and put a bottle of fuel injector cleaner along with high gread fuel. its alot happyer but its stull got a studer.

its acting like my old 92 exploder did the same thing when the coil pack got wet, coil back dieing? the CEL comes on when it sputters alot
 
i can only find one plug in for them to plug in a scan tool, i put a new coil pack in today and its better but the stutter is from idle to 1100RPM, i can here a misfire too. plugs and plug wires?
 
I think

I would pull the plugs and look closely at them If they all look good I'd be doing a compression check.. If they need to be replaced I'd not even bother with a compression check.
