92 ranger gas tank straps/support

my gas tank straps are rusted out and broken. i called ford and they told me it was either $175 or $310 (wheelbase and tank capacity). 92 ford ranger,2.3 manual extended cab. is there any aftermarket source for this besides j.c. whitneys universal ranger kit? or should i rig it, i have a lincoln mig and VERY limited fab exp. thanks in advance.

um as long as you remove the strap to weld it, dont do it by the gas tank

You can go MUCH cheaper, bungee cords is what my dad used. Only hung down a little bit on a full tank of fuel, it lasted the life of the truck.

i got mine from a local auto parts place (murray's) and autozone has em too. you may have to order them though, i think they got mine overnight.
