92 Ranger expedition truck

i love that motorhome , old Autocar's are sweet , what Engine does it have , i see it's a Cat , and where i live they have a name for them kind of trucks , they are called a Toterhome
Thank you, most people don't even notice it's an Autocar. It has a 3406 with a 15 speed eaton trans. It's actually a retired log truck from the 80's that I UMMMM..... re-purposed. With the buggies, we do most of our wheeling in southern cal. and Utah and New Mexico so we needed a rig that would haul 2 buggies as well as a verrrry heavy trailer. On long trips it's nice to have the peace of mind that your not over working your vehicle. The only real down side to it is that it holds 300gal of fuel. Let's see, $4.25 a gal x 300= the reason why I built the Ranger!!!!!

That is an amazingly functional rig. It's like what I wanted to turn my ranger into, but much, much better.

Thank you. Everyone here has had very kind words for my work. There are alot of interesting rigs on this site. Even for an experenced fabracator the detail that some of the members put into there posts and builds really helps cut down on R&D time. As for your saying that my ranger is much better than what you could build, there are some pretty talented people on here, lets see what you come up with!!! Also, I see that you're prior military, I'm old Marine my self.(there are no Ex Marines)

Awesome rig! I hope my truck looks as great when the SAS is done. How much lift do you think you ended up netting front and rear?

If I had to take a guess, I would say about 5 or 6 in. The truck measures 28.5in from the ground to the bottom of the rocker panel.

Wow, yes indeed this truck is very awesome! One day I hope to have my '94 similar to this.

I like your shock choice. haha (Mainly because I work in Aftermarket Production at Bilstein). haha Very VERY nice rigs :icon_thumby:

Thanks. Shane and I go way back and I do some product testing for them from time to time. I actually have a set of the prototype digressive valving sets for the 9100 series from 1998 on one of my buggys. Sent them in last year for a tune up and Joel wanted to put them in a museum. Let's just say that if taken care of, Bilstein products last.

That's cool.

Yeah they do. I'm working on getting my set of shocks. Still trying to figure out what I want. (I'm making it harder than it has to be) haha.

Please excuse me while I go clean up a little.

Sent from the front seat of my Ranger while sitting in traffic.
