Hi, I own a 1991 Ford Ranger XLT. It has the 3.0 Vulcan V6 and it has the automatic in it. I'm sorry if I don't know terms. I'm new to trucks and what not so bare with me.

I had a buddy of mine who had a manual 89' and I've been wanting a manual Ranger ever since. I know it would be cheaper to get a different truck but this one has low mileage and is in good shape.

How much would it cost to manual swap my 91' with a manual?

Both trucks must have 3.0. Meaning the donor truck has to be a 3.0 v6 as well as the recipient truck.

The bellhousing bolt pattern is unique to the 3.0l engine. That is why the manual transmission must come from a 3.0l. In addition, you will need the pedal and bracket assembly so you can have a clutch pedal. You will also need the clutch master cylinder, reservoir and tubing to go to the clutch. I'm not sure what else will be different regarding the flywheel, pilot bearing, etc. Between the clutch and engine.

It can be done and in my opinion, you will be able to get better use of the 3.0l engine that way.
