'89 Hawk GT

looking really nice! what did you have to do to make it safe to weld onto the gastank? did you use stick or mig?

It had been sitting empty without a cap for months, so I was pretty sure it was dry. I used MIG

I second coated the parts today and set them in the sun so they're ready to be color sanded and buffed. I'll do that in the next couple days. And I can start putting some of it back together.

I have a line on a Fox and and an Ohlins shock, so now I have to decide which one I want.

How it's sitting currently, just waiting on the Racetech springs to come in the mail.

In the mean time I've swapped the old broken Buell taillight internals into the crappy Chinese housings, so they work better now, and I polished the passenger foot peg mounts and painted the subframe black since I was bored. I also paint the fork sliders black since the PO took a flap disc or something to them and they look like hell.

Both shocks got sold out from underneath me, :annoyed: so the hunt continues for one.
