Here is a link to the the ecm diagnostics procedure. If the CEL doesn't work You can use a volt meter to read the codes but unless you have an analog unit, it may be hard to read. Using a test light to read them may put too much load on the ecm. Code readers with leds may not cost too much. The tech library also lists the codes. If it doesn't give any codes, maybe that would confirm the ecm as being the problem. It still may be worth reseating the connections on the ecm since you will need to remove it anyway if it is determined to be bad. I have fixed a lot of problems on cars (and computers as a electronics tech for 20 years) by cleaning connections, so that is always a good first step.
