There is one with a 2.2 turbo for sale in town. It has a digital dash and apparently little rust. They want $1000 for it. Has 110k miles on it. Should I go look at it? I kind of want to. I would really like a project car to work on.

5 speed or auto? If its an auto it would be that horrid 3 speed auto IIRC, and I'd steer clear.

I'd rock a 5 speed sleeper K car in a heartbeat for a grand.

If its a manual Ide definitely go check it out. Couple years back me and a buddy got an old lebaron cranked up to about 110 mph. So that 2.2 turbo would be quick as hell im sure. And fun!

my buddy's mom had one. i got it to 114, and it was the auto. it was a good car. i would have bought it if i had the money at the time.

I have only know 2 people who owned this pos...stay away from it. They both wished they never bought it. ONe was an auto and the other was a stick. It will cost too much if you have any repairs to do to it. Car and Drive and Road and Track mags back in the late 80's said it was a pos and stay clear of it. They later worked out a lot of issues (overheatng was a real big thing) with the car but it was never really popular due to some issues with it. Buy a Ford Ranger near your for that price or a bit more and play with that, Bro.

i have owned an 88 lebaron convertible and own an 89 dodge daytona es both 2.2 turbo cars. the lebarons drive and ride great. the down side of them is aluminum head and iron block. when you blow a head gasket (not if it is when) don't use the felpro gasket kit spend the extra coin and get genuine mopar performance gaskets. the boost is set at about 10 psi but you can crank it up easy enough. and there are some specialty vendors out there that cater to the boosted mopar crowd
