Hello I'm new to this site and working on rangers I owned a 93 stx 4x4 years ago but now I just purchased a 1988 2.9l 5spd 4x4 ext cab got it for a song but the truck has been sitting for almost 2 years I got the engine goin it fired right up but I cannot seem to get the clutch bled I've used the technique that it shows on here but have not been successful i cant get any pedal pressure i removed and cleaned the bleeder because it was clogged when i started working on the truck and you had to take the bleeder almost all of the way out to get any fluid out of it i got some pressure then it started leaking aroung the bleeder that is when i cleaned it and now fluid doesnt leak and comes out of the bleeder like it should if anyone could help me out with a technique to try id greatly appreciate it im movin this week and really need that truck and look forward to being a member on here.

thanks

Try jacking the front end as high as you can safely so you can push the air out of the master cylinder more easily. Then slowly pump the pedal many times and see if that helps bleed the air out.

I just bled my 88 and it was a pain.your best bet is to take every thing out and bench bleed it.It makes it alot easyer when you try to bleed it form the slave.
