87 2wd steelies on 2001 2wd ranger?

will 1987 15 inch ranger 2wd steelies fit 2001 ranger 2wd?
I tried some deer hoofs on the 2001 once and they didn't work so just though I'd ask before I drive to go check them out.
Read through the stickies and could not find this exact info.

If the deer hoof rims didn't work I would not really expect the 87 steelies to work either.

they were 14 inch deer hoof's and these steelies are 15 inch.
