86 ranger surging

hello all, i am very frustrated my ranger 2.9 is surging really bad!! i can hold it at 1/4 throttle and it surges from say 800 to 2000 non stop and it is really hard to idle and i can not figure it out, tried fuel i have pressure tried distributer plugs wires i just really dont want to keep trying alot of thing!! can anyone help?

try unpluggin ur IACV, its on the side of the upper intake, cylindrical in shape, if it clear up, thats ur culprit, procede to remove it and clean it out and then see how it runs
